Accessibility Statement
Last updated 10 July 2026 · Reviewed at least every 12 months
Dani Hildreth is committed to making this website accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the recognized standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with a single main heading per page, labelled landmarks, a “skip to content” link, and a declared page language.
- Full keyboard operability for all navigation, menus, image galleries, the lightbox, the contact form, the assistant, and the cookie controls.
- A visible focus indicator on interactive elements, tested for sufficient contrast on both light and dark backgrounds.
- Text and interface color contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG AA ratios, verified by computation rather than by eye.
- Descriptive alternative text on informative images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting, which removes non-essential movement while keeping content visible.
- A layout that remains usable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
Testing
We validate the Site using automated accessibility testing (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA rules) alongside manual keyboard and contrast checks. Automated testing catches many but not all issues, so we also welcome feedback from people who use the Site.
Ongoing effort & known limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. If any part of the Site presents a barrier, we treat it as a defect to be fixed. We re-audit the Site after significant design changes.
